Twin Sphere Records

Philosophy

While recording sessions in premiere rooms in Nashville (Ocean Way, Columbia, DECCA, REM) Colton Ford was dissatisfied with studios being built for engineering and sound quality, with musician playability coming second. Being on one side of a foot of glass as a musician left him disconnected from the engineers and production staff, feeling remote from part of the team creating the record. Much of the day’s studio time was wasted with patching, sound testing, and trips back and forth from the live room to the control room.

He built Twin Sphere with the objective of easily and quickly printing finished quality records almost immediately from the tracking session. No trips to the control room to listen and make notes, and no separation between the creative and technical teams. Musicians can stay at their instruments to hear the project’s progress and adjust immediately.

TS specializes in real instruments and band arrangements, although the studio is equipped to produce electronic, dance, and pop. the focus is on creating sessions and arrangements that suit the artists’ vision and are quickly ready for distribution – records or sync placements primarily.
